Ban imposed on sale of cotton candy in Tamil Nadu, government took decision for this reason

The sale of cotton candy has been banned in the country’s southern state Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government has decided to ban the sale of cotton candy in the state due to confirmed test reports revealing the presence of cancer-inducing chemicals. Tamil Nadu Health Minister M Subramaniam has ordered all food safety officials to take necessary measures and take strict action.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various welfare projects in Chennai through video conferencing. CM Stalin inaugurated 13 residences for firefighters and rescue personnel, offices of two district officers and fire stations and four new buildings for fire and rescue stations. These buildings were built at a cost of more than Rs 15.34 crore.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated 1374 new classroom buildings constructed at a cost of more than Rs 204 crore and 270 buildings constructed at a cost of Rs 80 crore by the Rural Development and Panchayat Department. CM Stalin then laid the foundation stone for the construction of 31 km long roads at Keejur Panchayat located in Bodhamalai in Namakkal district at an estimated cost of Rs 139.65 crore on behalf of the Rural Development and Panchayats Department. The Chief Minister also inaugurated Tuberculosis and Cardiovascular Medicine and Epidemiology Unit at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital Complex, Chennai, constructed at a cost of Rs 29.93 crore by the Medical and Public Welfare Department.
