Uttarakhand: Rajendra Bhandari resigns from membership of Assembly, Speaker accepts it, Badrinath seat becomes vacant

Badrinath MLA Rajendra Bhandari has resigned from the membership of the assembly. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri has accepted the resignation of Rajendra Bhandari. After the resignation of Rajendra Bhandari, now the Badrinath assembly seat has become vacant. For which by-elections will be held. By-elections on Badrinath assembly seat will be possible only after the Lok Sabha elections.

Let us tell you that today Badrinath MLA Rajendra Bhandari took membership of BJP in Delhi. Rajendra Bhandari took membership of the party in the presence of Piyush Goyal, CM Dhami, Anil Baluni and Dushyant Kumar Gautam. After Rajendra Bhandari joined BJP, Congress had opened its front. As soon as Rajendra Bhandari resigned, Congress had written a letter to the Assembly Speaker to cancel his assembly membership.

Political journey of Rajendra Bhandari: Rajendra Bhandari is the current MLA from Badrinath. Before this, Rajendra Bhandari had also been a cabinet minister in the Harish Rawat government after being elected MLA from Badrinath seat in the 2012 assembly elections. Whereas in the 2022 assembly elections, Rajendra Bhandari has defeated Uttarakhand BJP President Mahendra Bhatt. Rajni Bhandari, wife of Rajendra Bhandari, is currently the District Panchayat President from Chamoli. After joining BJP, Rajendra Bhandari said that he has joined the party after being impressed by the development work going on in Uttarakhand.
