Uttarakhand: Defection is reminding of 2016, leaders are not listening to Mahara’s plea, these veterans left Congress

Bharatiya Janata Party had given indications of sabotage in Uttarakhand Congress long before the Lok Sabha elections. BJP leaders were also openly saying in their statements that many Congress leaders were in contact with the BJP. Not only this, names of many Congress leaders were also being discussed in political circles. So much was happening in the state but Congress remained unaware even after seeing all this. Or rather, the party had already surrendered to the BJP’s strategy. That’s why one leader after another kept resigning from the party and Congress could not do anything special in the state in the name of damage control.

Although it is said that who can stop the person from leaving, but here the very efforts to stop him are being questioned. That is, on one side there was BJP’s strategy and on the other side the Congress organization was in a helpless condition. Now know which leaders said goodbye to the Congress party in the last few days.

He left Congress

  • Congress MLA Rajendra Bhandari from Badrinath assembly seat suddenly left Congress.
  • Former Gangotri MLA Vijaypal Sajwan joins BJP
  • Former Purola MLA Malchand also said goodbye to Congress
  • Former Tehri MLA Dhan Singh left Congress
  • Lakshmi Rana, who was the former District Panchayat President from Rudraprayag, also left Congress.
  • Harak Singh Rawat’s daughter-in-law Anukriti Gusain also resigned from Congress.
  • Former MLA Shailendra Rawat also left Congress and found a home in BJP
  • Bhuvan Chand Khanduri’s son Manish Khanduri also expressed faith in BJP instead of Congress.

Line of people leaving Congress

The surprising thing is that while resigning from Congress, all of them left the party citing personal reasons in just one line. Everyone’s resignation letter in the same language while leaving the party has also become a cause for discussion. Some people are also considering this as an already decided strategy of BJP. On the other hand, the most surprising thing is that BJP has still said that it is in touch with many Congress leaders and while also expressing the failure of the Congress organization, it has described the factionalism within the Congress as a big problem for them.

There may still be more divisions in Congress

Congress is apprehensive that BJP is contacting many other big leaders of their party. For this, now the activities of such leaders are also being monitored, but all these efforts appear to be ineffective. Currently, there are many Congress leaders in Uttarakhand whose names are coming to the fore due to frequent defection. In view of such difficult situation, now the party leaders have started making emotional appeals to the party workers and other leaders. State Vice President of Uttarakhand Congress, Mathura Dutt Joshi says that this is a period of crisis for the Congress. In this crisis, every leader and worker of the party should stand with the party. Party is like a mother. This works to take all the workers and leaders forward. In such a situation, during these difficult circumstances, everyone should stand with the sentiments of the party.

Uttarakhand Congress has old experience of such situations

This is not the first time that this is happening with Congress in Uttarakhand, when the party appears to be in great trouble. The party has already faced the crisis arising from defection in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has become the biggest example of major defection across the country. The stampede that took place in the politics of Uttarakhand in the year 2016 has rarely been seen in any state in the country. This is because during that time, not only the former Chief Minister of the ruling party but also the Cabinet Ministers and MLAs had simultaneously left the party during the budget session of the Assembly. Many cabinet ministers of Congress and prominent leaders with national level identity had simultaneously said goodbye to the party and joined BJP. For the first time, the country saw a constitutional crisis inside the Legislative Assembly on such a large scale and the political matter reaching the Supreme Court is still an example. Then nine Congress MLAs, including former Chief Ministers, cabinet ministers and MLAs, all left the party. Whereas apart from this, within a short period of time, some other cabinet ministers had also left the party.

Defection is reminding us of 2016

This time, even though there may not have been such a large-scale party change in Uttarakhand, but leaders leaving Congress one after another before the Lok Sabha elections is reminiscent of 2016. At that time Congress was in power, but this time despite being in opposition, Congress is the target of defection. Whereas the Congress organization is under question which is revealing its weak condition due to its inability to stop defection.
