India comes below Pakistan in the ranking of happiest countries in the world

“Finland has won the title of the world’s happiest country for the seventh consecutive year. According to the United Nations’ ‘World Happiness Report’ on Wednesday, Nordic countries continue to dominate the ranking of happy countries. After Finland, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden are named in this list.
Researchers say that the people of Finland’s connection with nature and healthy work-life balance are the main reasons for their happiness. Finns see success in life beyond economic growth; social security, trust in government institutions, low corruption, good education and health care also contribute to their well-being.
On the other hand, Afghanistan remains at the bottom of the ranking of happy countries in the list of 143 countries included in the survey, which is facing continuous humanitarian crises since the Taliban came back to power in 2020.
America’s rank also fell, big countries not included in top 20
For the first time in more than a decade, the United States and Germany dropped out of the list of the 20 happiest countries, falling to 23rd and 24th place, respectively. The US was at 16th place in the ranking last year. “Costa Rica and Kuwait have made their place in the top 20 with 12th and 13th ranking.”
This year, Canada ranked 15th, while Britain was 20th, Germany 24th and France 27th
The report highlights a shift where the happiest countries no longer include any of the world’s largest countries. Only Netherlands and Australia are in the top 10 with a population of more than 1.5 crore and Canada and the UK are in the top 20 with a population of more than 30 crore.
The list of happy countries has seen significant changes since 2006–2010. In this list of happy countries, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Jordan have seen a decline in their ranking, while Eastern European countries like Serbia, Bulgaria and Latvia have seen an increase in their ranking.
The ranking of happy countries is determined by factors such as citizens’ satisfaction with life as well as gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, mutual support of society and people, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity and corruption.
What is India’s rank in the list of happy countries?
In the happiness index, India is at 126th place like last year, while India’s neighboring countries China are at 60th, Nepal at 93rd, Pakistan at 108th, Myanmar at 118th, Sri Lanka at 128th and Bangladesh at 129th. If seen, Pakistan is ahead of India in the ranking of happy countries.”
“An interesting trend has been observed on life satisfaction among the elderly population of India. It is believed that only in high income countries the elderly population is happier whereas in India, life satisfaction is higher among elderly men. However, elderly Indian women are less happy than elderly men.
Women were less happy than men in almost every region across the world. With increasing age their level of happiness further decreases.
In India, level of education and caste also play a big role in happiness. Those who are less educated and come from SC, ST castes, their level of happiness was found to be low.
Talking about the world’s youth population (age 30 and below), Lithuania, Israel, Serbia, Iceland, Denmark were among the top five countries. Whereas Finland was at number seven in this matter. India’s youth population was ranked 127th in terms of happiness.”
