Uttarakhand: Chief Electoral Officer said that candidates should not do religious propaganda, if the flag is placed in the house then the bill will be added to the candidate’s account

Nominations for Lok Sabha elections have started in Uttarakhand from today. Amidst the election excitement, Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand, Dr. BVRC Purushottam has said many important things for the information of political parties, candidates and supporters of the candidates. In these, necessary appeals have been made regarding publicity, publicity expenditure and code of conduct.

CEO said do not do religious propaganda

Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand, Dr. BVRC Purushottam said that it is a good thing that elections and festival season are going on simultaneously. We are requesting all political parties not to do any kind of religious propaganda. BVRC Purushottam said that newspaper or TV advertisements can be given only after it is passed by the Media Monitoring Certification Committee.

If party flag is used then the bill will be torn in the name of the candidate

The Chief Electoral Officer said that if a private person puts up a flag of a particular party or candidate at his house, it will be included in the party’s expenses. Therefore, the guidelines are clear and we have made everything clear to the political parties. The Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand also said that there will be no impact on personal events like birthdays, marriage ceremonies, festivals during the elections. If any festival, Holi Milan, Iftar party etc. is used as a political platform, then it will be added to the election expenses. The Election Commission team will monitor all this.

Assured of peaceful elections

Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand, Dr. BVRC Purushottam said that there has always been a peaceful election process in Dehradun, but it does not mean that we are not taking it seriously. We are taking this very seriously. We have around 11,700 booths. We have identified 1000-1200 of them as sensitive booths. He said that we have central paramilitary forces and state PAC, we will ensure peaceful elections everywhere.
