Uttarakhand / Udham Singh Nagar: Brother and sister drowned in Gaula river while bathing, bodies of both recovered, mourning among family members

Two children who had gone to cut grass with their grandmother had entered the Gaula river to take a bath. During this time both of them drowned in the river. As soon as the news of the incident spread, there was panic in the area. Police have recovered the bodies of both the children from the river.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon. According to the information, Farmudan’s wife Latif Ahmed resident of Siroli Kala had gone to cut grass with her grandson Saad (8) and granddaughter Anam (9) and daughter’s children Armaan and Ayaan. Farmudan started cutting grass on the river bank. During this time all four children went down to the river to take bath. Due to less water on the river banks, Saad and Anam went inside the river. Meanwhile, both the children drowned in a deep mining pit. Arman and Ayaan, coming from behind, started raising noise after seeing both of them drowning. The children ran and informed their grandmother about this. After receiving the information the people of the village reached the spot.
Investigation into the case continues
Police reached the spot and recovered the bodies of both the children. There is chaos among the family members after the incident. After receiving the information, Kichha MLA Tilak Raj Behad also reached the spot. MLA Behad said that due to mining in Gola river, mining businessmen have made deep pits at many places. Due to which these children died due to drowning. Regarding the matter, Deputy District Magistrate Kaustubh Mishra said that the matter will be investigated. If it is as per the standards then compensation will be given.
