Madhya Pradesh: Fire broke out during Bhasma Aarti in Mahakal temple, CM was also present with children

A major accident has taken place during Bhasma Aarti in Mahakal temple of Ujjain. The chief priest and other servants of the temple got burnt due to the fire that broke out during the Bhasma Aarti in the sanctum sanctorum. MP CM Mohan Yadav and his family members were present nearby during the accident. However, he did not suffer any harm in this accident.

Fire caused by gulal
According to the information received, the door of the sanctum sanctorum was opened in the morning. After this the process of Bhasma Aarti started. In view of Holi, gulal was applied on Shivalinga. This gulal also fell on the priests and servants standing nearby. Suddenly gulal fell on the lamp burning there and suddenly the fire broke out. The priests and servants standing nearby also got burnt due to this fire. Everyone was immediately taken to the hospital. When the condition of some burnt people became critical, they were referred to a higher centre.

CM Mohan Yadav was also present
During the accident, MP CM Mohan Yadav along with his son and daughter were also present nearby. The accident happened in front of him. It is fortunate that the CM and his family did not get hit by this accident. CM has ordered treatment for all the burnt people.

Home Minister Amit Shah has also taken information about the Mahakal accident from MP CM Dr. Mohan Yadav. Shah wrote on Twitter, ‘Talked to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and got information regarding the fire incident in Shri Mahakal Temple of Ujjain. The local administration is providing assistance and treatment to the injured. I pray to Baba Mahakal for the speedy recovery of the injured.
