Uttarakhand: 20 crores will be spent in removing debris from Silkyara tunnel, Swiss company prepared DPR

It will cost Rs 20 crore to remove the debris caused by landslide in Silkyara Tunnel. To remove the debris, help was sought from a Swiss company, which has prepared a work plan (DPR) worth Rs 20 crore. The work of removing debris will start in three-four days.
On November 12 last year, 41 laborers working in the tunnel were trapped due to a landslide in the Silkyara-Polgaon tunnel under construction on Yamunotri Highway, who were rescued safely after 17 days. After the accident, the construction of the tunnel came to a halt for more than two and a half months. On January 23, the Center gave permission to NHIDCL to start construction, after which construction started from Barkot.
The next challenge is to remove landslide debris
Construction could not start due to landslide debris from Silkyara end. Last Friday, to start the construction, drainage of water accumulated due to leakage in the tunnel was started, after which the next challenge is to remove the landslide debris. Construction company Navyuga has started preparations. To remove the debris, technical help was sought from a Swiss company, which has prepared a DPR worth about Rs 20 crores for removing the debris.
After this, the construction company has completed the preparations for removing the debris with the help of the technology of the concerned company, which can start in three-four days. To remove the debris, help was sought from a consultant company, which has prepared a DPR worth Rs 20 crore. According to the DPR, the debris will be removed, work on which will start in three-four days.
