Uttarakhand / Pilibhit: Dispute over playing music on Holi, brother-in-law beat sister-in-law to death with sticks

In Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, a woman was beaten to death with sticks over a dispute over playing a sound box on the day of Holi. The police have registered a case against the brother-in-law of the deceased woman in this matter.
Police said that on Monday there was a dispute over playing sound in Govindpur village of Leelapur police station area of Pratapgarh district. In which the family members beat a 35-year-old woman to death with sticks. ASP (West) Sanjay Rai said that there was a dispute regarding the sound box itself. After which Laxmikant Gautam’s wife Kalavati (35) was beaten with sticks. The woman was brought to the local hospital for treatment, where doctors declared her dead.
On the complaint of the deceased’s husband, the police have registered a case of murder against the woman’s brother-in-law Shiv Prakash, his son Deepak and his wife and have sent the body for postmortem.
Bullet fired over music in Pilibhit
One such case has come to light from Pilibhit. Here too, there was a dispute over playing loud music and the situation escalated from stone pelting to firing. Many people were also injured in this incident.
The police officer said that after a dispute between two parties over playing music on the day of Holi in Barkheda police station area of the district, bullets were fired in the village in which one person got injured. While three youths were injured in stone pelting. The CO said that both the groups belonged to the present head and the former village head and investigation is being done in this matter.
