Why will Akhilesh Yadav not contest?

Speculations were being made that SP chief Akhilesh Yadav may contest the Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj seat of Uttar Pradesh. But now, according to sources, the news is coming that Akhilesh Yadav will not contest the Lok Sabha elections this time. The reason behind this is being told that he has the responsibility of playing the role of star campaigner for all the party candidates, so he is not contesting the elections.

However, voting is going to be held on Kannauj seat on May 13, for which there is still a lot of time. Therefore, the party has not announced the name of any of its candidates from this seat.

Akhilesh Yadav is an MLA from Karhal

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav contested from Azamgarh seat. In that election, BJP fielded Bhojpuri star Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua against Akhilesh Yadav but he had to face defeat.
