An eight-month pregnant woman who was burnt in a fire in Haridwar has died during treatment. The deceased’s brother has filed a complaint with the police regarding the matter. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case against the woman’s husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law for dowry harassment.

Eight months pregnant burnt in fire
The incident took place on March 7. The woman died on Tuesday during treatment. According to the information, Krishnapal resident of Pitpur told the police in her complaint that her younger sister Priyanka was married to Guddu, a resident of Shantarshah of Bahadarabad police station area on 19 December 2022. After marriage, her sister’s husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law kept harassing her for dowry every day. Brother told that Guddu’s love affair was going on with another woman also.

The woman was being mentally harassed
Krishnapal said that his sister was being continuously mentally harassed in her in-laws house. Frustrated by this, Priyanka poured petrol on herself and set herself on fire on March 7. The woman was admitted to AIIMS Hospital in a half-dead condition. Where the woman died during treatment on Tuesday. Let us tell you that the woman was eight months pregnant. During treatment, the child in the woman’s stomach also died.

Case registered against the accused
According to the information regarding the case, police station in-charge Naresh Rathod said that on the basis of the complaint filed by the relatives of the deceased, a case has been registered against the three accused under relevant sections. The case is being investigated.
