Uttarakhand: Women voters will become game changers, women are more interested in electing MP on this seat

Lok Sabha elections are to be held in Uttarakhand on 19 April. In such a situation, preparations for the elections have intensified. Women voters can prove to be a game changer in Uttarakhand. Whichever party or group women support, that party will have the upper hand. This is the reason why both the parties, be it BJP or Congress, are making efforts to woo women.

Effort to woo women voters
In Uttarakhand, both BJP and Congress political parties have organized various types of events to attract women voters in their favor. BJP is trying to bring mother power to its fold through schemes like Nari Shakti Vandan program, Lakhpati Didi Yojana, Uniform Civil Code and women’s reservation. At the same time, Congress has also raised other issues including women’s safety in Uttarakhand before contesting the elections.

Women voters will become game changers in Lok Sabha elections
On the strength of women, a party can not only get the key to power but can also snatch power. There is not much time left for Lok Sabha elections 2024. Let us tell you that Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar parliamentary seat is such where women are more interested than men in electing MPs. In the last elections, out of 14 assembly seats in the parliamentary constituency, half the population had voted in a record breaking manner, leaving the men behind. In such a situation, it is believed that the victory of the candidate who has attracted half the population is certain.

There are more than 20 lakh women voters in Nainital seat
Nainital parliamentary constituency includes five assembly constituencies of Nainital district – Nainital, Bhimtal, Haldwani, Kaladhungi and Lalkuan and nine assembly constituencies of Udham Singh Nagar – Jaspur, Kashipur, Bajpur, Gadarpur, Rudrapur, Kichha, Sitarganj, Nanakmatta and Khatima. This time there are about 20 lakh 12 thousand 265 voters in these 14 assembly constituencies. Of these, about nine lakh 67 thousand 183 are women voters. Barring Haldwani, Kashipur, Bajpur and Sitarganj assembly seats, women were ahead of men in electing MPs in 10 assembly constituencies.

The figure will increase in 2024
In the year 2019, there were about 18 lakh 28 thousand 433 voters. This time around one lakh 83 thousand 832 voters have increased. Among these, the number of young and female voters has also increased. Even if the number of women holding parliamentary seats is less than that of men. But if we talk about the last elections, women’s voting participation was higher. Like the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, this time too BJP is preparing to create history by winning all five seats in Uttarakhand.
