Driver of Volvo bus going from Dehradun to Gurugram assaulted, glass broken; action will be taken now

The vendor supplying water bottles to the passengers in the Super Deluxe Volvo Bus Service of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation and his associates forcibly stopped the bus going to Gurugram, assaulted the conductor and broke the front glass of the bus.
It is alleged that the conductor had protested against the vendor for less supply of water bottles in the bus. It is alleged that when the passengers tried to intervene, the attackers also abused them. The driver and conductor of the bus have given a written complaint about the incident to the corporation management. Assistant General Manager of Rural Depot KP Singh said that action is being taken against the accused vendor.
Uttarakhand Transport Corporation provides water bottle facility to the passengers in Volvo buses. For this, a tender has been given to a firm of Kotdwar. In Volvo, a supply of bottles called Transport Neer is made available at ISBT before the departure of the bus.
It is alleged that the firm supplies less bottles in the buses and the remaining bottles are sold outside. When the operators protest against this, the vendor and his henchmen threaten them. A similar incident came to light in a Volvo going from Dehradun to Gurugram on Tuesday night. Operator Bhupendra Panwar was posted on this bus.
When the bus was about to leave from ISBT, the vendor provided four boxes (80 bottles) of water in the bus, while the conductor asked to provide five boxes (100 bottles) for 96 passengers. The operator told that on this the vendor’s employee Tinku Sehgal started abusing and threatening him. Vendor’s associate Suraj Kumar and others also reached there and tried to create a scuffle. During this time, other conductors and passengers at ISBT intervened and calmed down the matter.
It is alleged that when the bus left from ISBT for Gurugram, Tinku Sehgal and his associates forcibly stopped the bus near Transport Nagar, 500 meters away and tried to pull the conductor Bhupendra Panwar out. It is alleged that the attackers beat up the conductor and broke the front glass of the bus with an iron chain. When the passengers protested, the attackers also pushed them.
When the driver somehow drove away the bus, the attackers threatened to stop the bus in Chhutmalpur, Uttar Pradesh. On this, the operator called the police control room and informed. It was told that Doon Police also sent information to Uttar Pradesh Police, after which the police in Chhutmalpur remained alert and the bus left for Gurugram under the vigil of the police. On reaching back to Doon on Wednesday, the operator gave a written complaint against the accused vendor. The operator has demanded from the management to register a case against the accused.
Complaint has been received in the past also
Complaints have been received many times in the past against the Kotdwar based firm that supplies water, but due to nexus with higher officials, no action could ever be taken against the firm. Last month, a complaint was received about expiry date water being supplied in the Volvo bus coming from Delhi to Doon. In this case also the management had shied away from talking about taking action.
