Virendra Rawat is the Congress candidate from Haridwar and his direct contest is with BJP candidate Trivendra Singh Rawat, who has also been the former CM of Uttarakhand.

Independent MLA from Khanpur Umesh Kumar has also filed independent nomination on this seat. Umesh Kumar’s figure is considered to be thirty-six compared to both the former Chief Ministers of the state, Trivendra Singh Rawat and Harish Rawat, hence it is believed that a triangular contest can be seen on the Haridwar Lok Sabha seat.
