Uttarakhand: You will not be able to get commercial water connections in Dehradun from April 1, due to this there is a ban

As the heat increases, complaints of drinking water shortage have started coming from many areas. The situation is similar in other districts of the state also. In such a situation, there are chances of severe heat in the next few months, due to which water consumption as well as availability reduces.

In view of this, Jal Sansthan has started preparations to deal with the drinking water crisis. Along with repairing damaged drinking water lines, water sources are also being repaired. To avoid water crisis in cities during the scorching heat, a ban is being imposed on giving new commercial connections for three months from April 1.

Due to continuous construction in urban areas, there is a huge demand for water. On normal days, there is no problem due to high availability of water and low demand, but in summer the situation becomes opposite. Due to which water is not made available for construction works. For which business connections will be closed from April 1.

Connections will resume after the arrival of monsoon
Commercial connections will be given from July only after the drinking water supply becomes normal after the onset of monsoon. In such a situation, people planning to construct buildings in urban areas in the next three months may face problems.

Now they will have to wait till the rainy season. Domestic connections are provided by Jal Sansthan throughout the year, but commercial connections are banned for three months in summer.

Water bills will also increase. Chief General Manager of Jal Sansthan, Neelima Garg said that every year from April 1, water rates are increased category wise by nine to 15 percent.

Besides, there is a ban on giving commercial connections for three months. The mandate to increase water rates was made in the year 2013, after which it is automatically implemented every year.
