Big change in Pakistan team… Babar Azam becomes captain again, Shaheen Afridi on leave

A big news has come out from Pakistan cricket. Babar Azam has again been appointed captain of the Pakistan team. Babar will take charge of the Pakistan team in T20 and ODI formats. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has given this responsibility to Babar after the recommendation of the selection committee. Shan Masood will remain the captain of the Test team.

Babar left the captaincy last year

Babar Azam had left the captaincy of three formats after poor performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 hosted by India. Then Shaheen Shah Afridi was made the captain in T20. Whereas in the test, Shan Masood was given the command. However, even after changing the captain, the performance of Pakistan team was not anything special.

Pakistan team was out of the group stage in World Cup 2023. She had won only 4 out of 9 matches and was at fifth position in the points table. Babar himself could not show much excellence in batting.
