Uttar Pradesh: Mother and son murdered the Mahant due to pressure of illicit relationship
Police claimed to have solved the murder case of Hardoi resident Mahant Mani Ramdas on Sunday. If police is to be believed, mother-son duo from Misrikh had killed Mahant. Mahant used to pressurize the accused woman to have an illicit relationship with him. Fed up with this, both of them killed Mahant. Police has recovered the murder weapon, a sickle and a sickle, on the basis of information provided by both of them.
Mahant Mani Ramdas, resident of village Girdharpur, police station Beniganj, Hardoi, had come to Misrikh to participate in 84 Kosi Parikrama. He suddenly went missing on 25 March. When Mahant did not reach home, nephew Tai lodged a missing report in the police station on 26 March. Meanwhile, on the evening of 29 March, the body of Mahant Mani Ram Das was found in a sack lying in the bushes on the way to Parkesaripur on Sidhauli Road. Both his legs were cut. One of the legs was cut off from the body.
Police registered a case of murder in this matter and started investigation. ASP Southern Dr. Praveen Ranjan Singh said that when Mahant’s family was questioned, the name of Gangadei alias Chhoti Bitiya (50) son of Sonu, resident of Bhudpurva, Misrikh, came to light. After this, call details of both of them were obtained. It was found that Mahant and Gangadei used to talk many times. After this, Inspector Shailendra Srivastava’s team arrested both of them.

ASP said that investigation revealed that Gangadei and Mahant Maniram Das were very close. Mahant also used to do exorcism and tantric work. About a year ago, Gangadei’s daughter Vinita had gone somewhere with Sonu’s brother-in-law Sachin.
Apart from this, Gangadei’s son Sonu’s wife Lakshmi had also left the house. Due to all these things, Gangadei and her family felt humiliated in the society. The family considered the Mahant responsible for Vinita and daughter-in-law Lakshmi leaving the house. Mahant Maniram repeatedly pressurized Gangadei to have an illicit relationship. Fed up with this, the mother and son killed the Mahant. Police have arrested the accused mother and son and recovered the murder weapon, a sickle and sickle. Both the accused have been sent to jail.
