A large number of guests also attended this wedding and all the rituals were performed.

One of the guests at the wedding ceremony told that this marriage happened because of a long standing custom. In this custom prevalent in the area, the religious leader marries a virgin girl. The religious leader had chosen this girl six years ago, that is, when she was only six years old. The girl will now participate in several other traditional ceremonies focused on purification. This guest also told that at present there is no virgin girl above nine years of age in Nangua.

After this special marriage, there will be a tradition of purification of the girl. It is believed that this ritual empowers her to fulfill her anticipated responsibilities as the wife of Nuumo Borkete Laweh, which also includes bearing children. Gborabu Wulomo, a reverend in Nungua in the Greater Accra Region, defended the marriage, saying she was still in school and did not live with the cleric.
