Big news is coming out from Chakrata of Dehradun. A massive fire suddenly broke out in a three-storey house made of cedar wood in Mundha village. Seeing the flames, there was an outcry on the spot.

The incident is said to have happened on Tuesday. According to the information, victim building owner Tikam Singh Chauhan, resident of Mundha village, told that his mother was sleeping in the last room of the house at the time of the incident. Suddenly his eyes opened due to smoke and foul smell coming from the flames. She was stunned to see this. Somehow she ran out of the room.

The fire was brought under control with the help of villagers
The woman told that other family members were sleeping in another house nearby. The woman woke up everyone by making noise. But by then the fire had engulfed the entire house. People nearby saw the smoke and reached the spot. The villagers tried to control the fire. The fortunate thing was that the villagers controlled the fire before it reached the nearby houses.

Police engaged in investigation
According to the information, Revenue Sub-Inspector Jayalal Sharma, who reached the spot, said that prima facie the cause of fire in the house is said to be short circuit in the electric wire. Investigation of the matter is ongoing. The loss will be assessed after the arrival of the victim’s family.
