Uttarakhand: No road, no vote: This village of Champawat announced boycott of Lok Sabha elections

Angered by the non-construction of a road in Bantoli village of Barakot block of Champawat district, the local people have announced boycott of voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Let us tell you that the villagers have been demanding asphalting of Marodakhan Bantoli road for a long time. But the demands of the villagers have not been fulfilled yet.
Villagers of Bantoli village announced election boycott
On Wednesday, the angry villagers of Bantoli village, under the leadership of village head Narayan Singh Fartyal, demonstrated by standing in the road and raising slogans against the government administration. The villagers have announced boycott of the Lok Sabha elections to be held on April 19. During this, the villagers demonstrated by raising slogans of no road, no vote. A large number of women were present in the demonstration.
Villagers have been demanding road asphalting for nine years
Village head Narayan Singh Fartyal said that almost 9 years have passed since the road cutting. The villagers have been demanding asphalting of roads for a long time. Despite pressure from all government offices, the demands of the villagers have not been fulfilled. An application was also filed in the Chief Minister’s court regarding the matter but no hearing has taken place till now nor are the public representatives taking care of them.
Fear of accidents remains
Fartyal said that the road has completely deteriorated. In which there is always a fear of vehicle accidents. Villagers have to face problems due to bad roads. The villagers have announced boycott of the Lok Sabha elections due to the bad condition of the roads. Fartyal said that the entire responsibility of boycotting the elections will be on the government administration.
