Snowfall in Kedarnath and Badrinath, up to three feet snow in the Dham
The weather has deteriorated in the hilly areas of the state for the last two days. On Thursday, while there was rain with thunderstorm in Yamuna valley including Yamunotri Dham, there was snowfall in Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham in the afternoon. Due to which snow removal in the Dham has been affected.
Snowfall in Kedarnath and Badrinath
The weather remains bad in the higher reaches of the state. While there was rain and snowfall on Thursday, the Meteorological Center has predicted rain and snowfall for Friday also. The weather was clear in Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham on Thursday morning but snowfall started in the Dham in the afternoon. By evening the snowfall became light but due to snowfall the snow removal work in the Dham is getting affected.
Superintendent of Police inspected Badrinath Dham
Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar inspected Badrinath Dham while taking stock of the preparations for Chardham Yatra. The SP gave instructions to the police personnel by marking sensitive places on the Chardham Yatra route. Let us tell you that Chardham Yatra will start from May. Due to which the police and administration have started preparing for the yatra.
There is three feet of snow in many places
There is still snow in Badrinath Dham. There has been two to three feet of snow at many places on the yatra route. SP Sarvesh Panwar also asked about the well-being of the soldiers deployed for the security of the temple. He gave instructions to get the police station premises and temporary barracks damaged due to snowfall repaired before the start of the Chardham Yatra.
