Uttarakhand: Rural voters hold the key to victory, urban vote percentage is low
Lok Sabha elections 2024 are near in Uttarakhand. All political parties are trying to win the hearts of the people from rural areas to cities. The tone of elections may be more visible in cities, but do you know that the key to election victory is still in the hands of rural voters.
State Election Commission prepared the list
According to the voter list prepared by the Election Commission of India for the Lok Sabha elections, the total number of voters in Uttarakhand has reached 84.14 lakh. On the other hand, this week the State Election Commission has also prepared the voter list of 93 bodies ready for voting in the first phase, in which the total number of voters is reaching 27.30 lakh. The total number of bodies in the state is 105.
Voter number of cities expected to reach 30 lakh
In this way, even if all the bodies are included, the total number of voters in the cities is expected to reach only 30 lakhs. It is clear from the comparison of these two voter lists that the total number of voters in the cities of the state is only 35 percent as compared to the villages. Whereas in rural areas the number of voters is up to 65.
Rural voters hold the key to victory
On the other hand, more enthusiasm is seen regarding voting in rural areas than in cities. It is clear from the list prepared by the Election Commission that in the politics of the state, the key to victory in the elections is still in the hands of rural voters. Districts like Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar are very important in terms of rural politics.
People’s blessings will be received only by going door to door
On the other hand, the number of civic bodies is more in the hills, but the average number of voters in the civic bodies here is only five to six thousand. Despite being scattered, the villages are overwhelming in numbers. If the candidate touches the hearts of the people by going from village to village, then it is clear that the stake of victory will be on that candidate.
