‘Come into politics by holding my finger, but now have a different perspective…’ Sharad Pawar taunted PM Modi

NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar on Monday once again took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement of coming into politics by ‘holding fingers’ and accused the PM of adopting a ‘different stance’. Pawar has also attacked ‘personal attacks’ and action being taken against those having different ideologies.
Sharad Pawar was addressing an election meeting in Baramati in Pune district on Monday. He said, when I was the Union Agriculture Minister, I had helped Gujarat tremendously. At that time Modi was the Chief Minister of the state. I did not see which party he belonged to. I saw that the farmers in his state needed to be made happy and so I helped him.
‘A different perspective is being seen today’
Sharad Pawar further said, one day he told me that he wanted to come to Baramati. Here in his speech he said, he had moved forward in politics by holding Sharad Pawar’s finger and whatever (developmental) work I have done till now, Pawar Saheb had taught me to do it by holding his finger. But today he (Modi) has changed and is adopting a different approach.
‘Pawar lashed out at the arrest of Kejriwal and Hemant’
Sharad Pawar cited the cases of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and said, if anyone makes personal criticism or takes a different stand, he is put in jail. He asked- Is this democracy? No, this is dictatorship.
‘That finger was very heavy’
Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in the presence of Sharad Pawar in a program in 2016 that he had come into politics holding Pawar’s finger. In the year 2022, when Pawar was asked whether Modiji says that he has come into politics holding Pawar’s finger? On this, Sharad Pawar had only said that I did not know that my finger would be so heavy. Today it is known that that finger is very heavy. Even before this, there have been political attacks from his side, but the trend has been to attack with gestures. This time the NCP chief has directly targeted PM Modi.
