Senior Congress leaders met the Election Commission, presented complaints against the PM

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh along with senior leaders met the Election Commission. He has given this information on his X handle. Jayaram said, along with his colleagues Salman Khurshid, Mukul Wasnik, Pawan Kheda and Gurdeep Sappal, have just met the Election Commission and presented and debated 6 complaints, 2 of which are against the PM himself.

He said, it is time for the Election Commission to demonstrate its independence by ensuring level playing field for all parties. We are hopeful that the Honorable Commission will maintain its constitutional mandate. For our part, we will continue to pursue all political and legal avenues to expose this regime.

Senior lawyer and Congress leader Salman Khurshid said, we are very saddened by what the PM says in his speeches. Khurshid said, we understand that the PM has no right to say such a thing. This matter is before the Election Commission. I have made a special request to them to take this seriously and take action on it.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Pawan Kheda said, we raised many issues, we lodged a strong objection to the way the PM gave status to the Muslim League in our manifesto. We also expressed our views on PM’s hoardings in universities. Elections have been declared. The ministry is currently a caretaker government and they do not have the right to impose such restrictions on freedom of expression.
