Uttarakhand: Police gave reason for the sound of explosions heard in Dehradun areas

There was panic in the areas around Dehradun due to the sound of loud explosions one after the other. After receiving the information the police team immediately reached the spot.

Dehradun Police contacted various agencies. Preliminary information revealed that there is a possibility of supersonic boom of the Air Force’s fighter plane. Officials did not provide further information due to security concerns. The police have appealed to the local public not to be afraid.

What is supersonic boom?
When something passes through the air at a speed faster than the speed of sound, a sound like an explosion is produced. This sound is called sonic boom. Sonic booms produce large amounts of sound energy. In fact, airplanes travel faster than the speed of sound. This speed is called supersonic speed.

Let us tell you that super sonic boom or sonic boom is generated by any aircraft or object. Which travels faster than the speed of sound (1238 km/hour). Supersonic means faster than sound. Sonic booms are a type of shocking waves. Planes running at this speed produce such loud noise that it sounds like a bomb explosion or thunder on the ground.
