In this episode, a candidate in Aligarh, UP has done something which everyone was surprised to see. You must have often seen that a garland of slippers is worn to punish or humiliate someone. But Pandit Keshav Dev Gautam, independent Lok Sabha candidate from Aligarh, has started the election campaign wearing a garland of slippers. Everyone was surprised to see that he was seen asking for votes wearing a garland of slippers instead of a garland of flowers.

Actually, Pandit Keshav Dev has got the election symbol of slippers as an independent candidate. Keshav Dev himself had applied for the slippers election symbol, after which he is campaigning with a garland of 7 slippers around his neck. He also remains in the news for opposing corruption.

Let us tell you that Pandit Keshav Dev is an RTI activist. He also runs organizations called Bharatiya Hindu Rashtra Sena and Anti-Corruption Sena. He has contested assembly elections twice. In the last assembly elections, Pandit Keshavdev had contested the legislative elections from the city assembly seat where he had to face defeat. Last year, as an independent candidate from 69th ward of Aligarh Municipal Corporation, Pandit Keshavdev had reached the nomination center located at the Collectorate by sitting on top of a tree from his house. On the way, whoever saw him sitting on the rickshaw and going to fill the form, kept looking at him.

14 candidates are in the election fray in Aligarh

Voting for Aligarh Lok Sabha seat will be held in the second phase i.e. on April 26. The process of withdrawal of nominations was completed on Monday in which two including independents withdrew their nomination papers. Now a total of 14 candidates are left in the fray. A total of 21 people had filed nominations between March 28 and April 4. Of these, the nominations of 5 were canceled after deficiencies were found. After this, a chance to withdraw nominations was given from 11 am to 3 pm on Monday.
