There was a stir when the decomposed body of a student who went missing 51 days ago was found lying in a ditch. Dead body of a student found lying in a ditch
A student had gone missing 51 days ago from Kathgodam area of Nainital district. Yesterday, the decomposed body of the student was recovered from a ditch near Shitala Devi temple. After which there has been a stir in the area. The family members have expressed suspicion of murder of the student and have accused the police of negligence. The cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report comes.
Went missing on 17th February
According to the information received, Bhaskar (15), son of Subhash Chandra Dumka, originally resident of village Pokhari, Putgaon, tehsil Dhari, lived at his uncle Mohan Sanwal’s house in Shivpuri Jawahar Jyoti Damuwadhunga. He used to study while staying here. Bhaskar was studying in class ninth in a private school located in Awas Vikas.
He left for school on 17th February. But since then he has not returned to his home. When he did not return home, his family members kept searching for him till late evening but could not find anything about him. After this he lodged a missing complaint at Kathgodam police station.
Dead body found lying in pond after 51 days
Police started investigating the case in which the student was last seen in the footage of CCTV cameras installed near Shitala temple. But even after that he could not be found. 51 days after his disappearance, a woman who had gone to cut grass in the forest informed the police about the body of a teenager lying in a ditch. After which the police reached the spot and took the body into custody. The body has been identified as Bhaskar.
Family members accused the police of negligence
The student’s uncle Chandra Dutt Dumka and uncle Vivek Dumka have accused the police of negligence in investigating this case. He says that the police showed no interest in finding his child. Along with this, the family members have alleged that the police had also removed Damuwadhunga outpost in-charge, who was searching for the student, from the investigation team. The family members say that their child was being searched with the help of two policemen. Along with this, the family members had also expressed suspicion of murder on the two children last seen with the student.
