Talk of repeal of CAA law, promise of not implementing UCC… Manifesto of Mamata Banerjee’s party released

Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress on Wednesday released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. TMC has promised in its manifesto that if the government is formed at the Centre, it will repeal the CCA (Citizenship Amendment Act). Also the process of NRC (National Register of Citizens) will be stopped. Trinamool Congress has promised in its manifesto not to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). TMC has released its manifesto two days before the start of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. Let us tell you that in the first phase, voting will be held in Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri of West Bengal on 19th April.

Releasing the manifesto of TMC, the party’s national spokesperson Derek O’Brien said that Mamata Banerjee has made 10 promises to the people of the country. Our stand is that CAA will not be implemented in Bengal, NRC and Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will also not be allowed to be implemented. These promises will be fulfilled if Trinamool forms the government at the Center as part of the India Bloc. Derek O’Brien said that if the India Block government is formed at the Centre, with the support of Mamata Didi, the honorarium under MNREGA will be increased to Rs 400 per day. Permanent houses will be built for everyone.

According to TMC’s manifesto, if India Bloc government is formed at the Centre, all BPL families will get 10 free cylinders in a year. Duare will implement the ration scheme at the national level and 5 kg free ration will be delivered to each ration card holder at his place of residence. Senior citizens above 60 years of age will be given a pension of Rs 1000 per month. Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme will be implemented at the national level under which women will be given a fixed monthly amount. Will provide health insurance cover up to Rs 10 lakh to all citizens.

TMC has made the following promises in its manifesto for Lok Sabha elections 2024…

  1. All graduate and diploma holder youth up to 25 years of age will be provided 1 year apprenticeship (training in any field) with monthly stipend.
  2. Student credit card up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided to students pursuing higher education.
  3. The amount of scholarship will be tripled for SC, ST and OBC students pursuing higher education.
