All EVM votes will be matched with VVPAT slips! Big news from Supreme Court

The Supreme Court reserved its decision on the petitions demanding 100 percent verification of EVM votes through VVPAT slips. Let us tell you that at present VVPAT slips of five randomly selected EVMs are verified in each assembly constituency.

According to a Bar & Bench report, the Supreme Court, commenting on the matter, said that we do not need to be skeptical about everything. A bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta is hearing the case. Let us tell you that VVPAT is an independent vote verification system, which enables the voter to see whether his vote has been cast correctly or not.

Court expressed unhappiness over criticism of EVM

Earlier on Tuesday, the Supreme Court had expressed unhappiness over the criticism of EVMs and the demand for bringing back the ballot papers. The court said that the electoral process in India is a huge task and no attempt should be made to weaken this system. The court also mentioned how polling stations were captured during the ballot phase to manipulate the election results.
