The government has issued an order regarding public holidays in Uttarakhand. Voting is to be held in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Uttarakhand on April 19. Therefore this day has been declared a public holiday.

Voting will be held in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Uttarakhand. In the order issued, it has been said that due to the Lok Sabha election voting on April 19, a one-day public holiday has been declared for the industrial units, all government and non-government offices, educational institutions and factories in the state.

Government is trying to increase vote percentage

In Uttarakhand, the number of voters has reached 81 lakh 67 thousand 568 and the number of service voters has reached 93 thousand 962. More than 82 thousand new voters have been added. This time 81 lakh 67 thousand 568 voters will participate in voting in the state. Whereas 93 thousand 962 voters will vote as service voters.
