In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a grandmother who wanted to have a grandson committed suicide by strangulating her four-day-old innocent granddaughter. The newly born granddaughter, who is disabled with one hand, will not even realize that the grandmother who is pretending to caress her by holding her in her arms, will make her a grave in her arms.
This entire incident started on March 23, when Kajal Chauhan, living in Gol Pada area of Gwalior, was admitted to Kamla Raja Hospital due to labor pain. Here Kajal gave birth to a small girl, but this girl was disabled with one hand. Kajal was very happy about the birth of the girl, but Kajal’s mother-in-law Premlata Chauhan was upset with the birth of the girl because Premlata wanted her daughter-in-law Kajal to give birth to a son as her first child. When a daughter was born in place of a son, the same daughter began to seem like a curse to Premlata.
Seeing her mother-in-law’s attitude, Kajal understood that her mother-in-law was unhappy with the birth of her daughter, hence the pregnant daughter-in-law kept her daughter away from her mother-in-law Premlata. During this time, Kajal’s mother kept taking care of her daughter in the hospital, when suddenly the news of Kajal’s uncle’s death came. After which Kajal’s mother left the hospital.
Kajal’s mother-in-law Premlata took advantage of this. Despite Kajal’s unwillingness, her mother-in-law took the newborn baby girl. It was the night of March 26, when Premlata Chauhan wrapped her four-day-old granddaughter in a blanket, took her in her arms and kept her sleeping near her throughout the night. At least Kajal felt the same way, but Premlata’s intentions had become very dangerous and she strangled her four-day-old granddaughter as soon as she got the chance. The granddaughter’s life was almost gone, but Premlata was not separating her from her lap.
When Kajal’s maternal uncle and aunt reached the hospital, Kajal asked for her child back from her mother-in-law, but the mother-in-law refused to give the child back. Kajal became suspicious about this. When Kajal’s maternal uncle and aunt forcibly took the child from Premlata, the child showed no behavior. Seeing this he became suspicious and went straight to the doctor. Where the doctor declared the girl dead after checking.
During this time, Kajal’s mother-in-law Premlata left the spot. Kajal was suspicious of her mother-in-law, so the mother insisted on the post-mortem of her daughter. Kampu police station was also informed about this, but Kajal’s husband Vikas Chauhan started opposing this statement of Kajal. Kajal did not listen to her husband.
Eventually the post-mortem of the girl’s body was conducted, but Kajal had to bear the cost. The in-laws did not take Kajal home with them. People from Kajal’s maternal side took Kajal to her aunt’s house in Shinde’s Cantonment.
The post-mortem report of the girl came out on Thursday, which revealed that the girl died due to strangulation. Kajal directly blamed her mother-in-law Premlata for this. Based on Kajal’s complaint, the police registered an FIR against Premlata under section 302 on the basis of the post-mortem report and arrested Premlata.
