Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati on Sunday expressed doubts about the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and claimed that if free and fair elections are held, then this time the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win from the Centre. Will not come back to power easily. The BSP chief was addressing a public meeting organized in support of party candidate Mujahid Hussain in Amroha on Sunday. Reacting to Congress, BJP and all their other allies, he said, “After independence, power at the Center and the states remained mostly in the hands of the Congress, but in most of the cases, due to wrong policies, it was thrown out of power at the Center and the states. It had to happen.”
BJP is not going to come back to power at the Center easily
Accusing the BJP of following the path of the Congress, the BSP chief said, “For the last many years, the BJP and its allies have been in power at the Center and the states, but their casteist, capitalist, narrow, communal, malicious policies, functioning and Due to the difference in their words and actions, it seems that this time the BJP is not going to easily come back to power at the Centre. He said, provided the elections are free and fair this time and EVMs are not tampered with. Mayawati said, “Anyway, their (BJP’s) old and new theatrics, catchphrases, guarantees etc. will not work in the elections this time, because now the people of the country have understood them.”
He alleged, “His party has not done even a quarter of the work it had promised to do for the poor, weaker sections and other working people of the country, to show them good days.” Taking a dig at the BJP, the former Chief Minister said, “Their Most of the time and energy was spent on enriching the big capitalists and the rich and giving them immunity and protection.” Mayawati claimed that now it seems that like the Congress party, the BJP has ”politicized” most of the investigating agencies at the Centre.
