Uttarakhand: Kedarnath covered with snow…Snowfall in Badrinath, Gangotri also…Meteorological department expressed fear of rain
Latest pictures of snowfall in Kedarnath Dham surfaced early today morning. The weather changed in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand only late on Wednesday evening. There was snowfall on Gaumukh track including Gangotri Dham. At the same time, there was snowfall in the higher reaches of Chamoli district, while in the lower areas the weather became cool due to strong winds.
Along with Badrinath Dham, Hemkund Sahib, Rudranath, other high altitude areas also received snowfall. Master plan work has also been affected due to snowfall in Badrinath Dham. Whereas, the snow removal work on Hemkund Sahib walking route has also been affected due to snowfall. The weather became cold due to strong winds in Joshimath, Gopeshwar, Pokhri areas.
On the other hand, the temperature has dropped due to rain in Harshil Valley. At the same time, the weather in the plains has remained dry since morning. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in the hilly areas till evening. However, the weather will remain dry in the plains.
According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of light rain and strong thunder in some areas of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts.
