Uttarakhand: Our job is to set fire and walk on fire…Chamoli’s video goes viral, three youths arrested

Taking cognizance of the video made on social media with the aim of promoting forest fire, Chamoli police took action and arrested three youths. During police investigation, the video was found to be from Pandavakhal, Gairsain Chamoli. These days, a video is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which some youth are seen promoting forest fire. Taking cognizance of this video, Chamoli police investigated, in which the video was found to be from Chamoli. Taking immediate action on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar, the police arrested Brijesh Kumar, Salman and Shukhlal, all three residents of Bihar, and registered a case under Section 26 of the Indian Forest Act and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

All three youths have been brought to Gairsain police station. During interrogation, the youth told that they had uploaded this video to gain popularity on social media. Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar has appealed to save forests from fire. He said that it is the primary responsibility of the local residents to extinguish the fire in the incident areas.
