Let us tell you that a total of 129 settlements have been identified in Dehradun Municipal Corporation area, in which it is estimated that there will be 40 thousand buildings. However, according to the construction rules made after 2016, these have been declared illegal. Due to no restrictions, settlements were expanded illegally in different areas of the city and hundreds of new buildings were constructed. The Municipal Corporation did not even pay attention for the last eight years. Although land or houses cannot be bought or sold in slums, land and houses are bought and sold indiscriminately in all the slums of the city. Stamp papers ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 100 each were created and sold in settlements. Now the Municipal Corporation is conducting a survey to know the actual width of Rispana.
