Israel: Tension increased between Israel and America over the attack on Rafah, Biden government stopped the supply of weapons
The attack on the city of Rafah in Gaza has created tension in the relations between Israel and America. This tension has increased so much that America has stopped the consignment of weapons to Israel. A senior US official gave this information. The Biden government of America is trying to avoid Israel’s attack on Rafah, while Israel has started military action against Rafah.
Israel begins attack on Rafah
A US government official said that we have started reviewing the weapons being sent to Israel that could be used in Rafah. As part of this review, we have decided to stop the supply of many weapons including 1800-2000 lb bombs being sent to Israel last week. However, the White House and the Pentagon have not commented on stopping the supply of weapons to Israel. Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that if Hamas does not release our hostages as per the agreement, we will launch more terrible attacks on Rafah. Israel also rejected the ceasefire agreement with Hamas. Israel began attacking Rafah on Monday night.
Fear of large number of civilians being killed in Rafah
When Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October, America had declared support to Israel. However, Israel’s attack on Rafah is being opposed by America. America fears that a large number of civilians may die in the Israeli attack on Rafah and the Israel-Hamas war may spread to the entire Arab region. More than 34 thousand people have died so far in Israel’s attack on Gaza and due to this, about 23 lakh people in Gaza are on the verge of starvation. A large number of people have taken refuge in Rafah after escaping from the Israeli attack in Gaza. In such a situation, a large number of civilians are feared to die due to Israel’s attack on Rafah.
