Uttarakhand: CM Dhami suspended 10 officers and employees who were negligent in forest fire, action was taken against 7 others also

These days, forest fire, Chardham Yatra and drinking water supply remain a big challenge in the state of Uttarakhand. To overcome these challenges, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level review meeting with the concerned departmental officials on Wednesday. During the meeting, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami not only took information about compliance with the guidelines given earlier, but also gave all the necessary guidelines regarding controlling forest fires, improving drinking water supply system and arrangements for Chardham Yatra. During the meeting, the CM has ordered suspension of 17 officers and employees who were negligent in the forest fire incident. 10 people have been suspended, 5 people have been suspended and show cause notices have been issued to 2 officers.

Order to suspend negligent officers

After the meeting, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the fire in the forests of the state remains a big problem and challenge. During its review, the responsible officers were instructed to go to the field. In such a situation, officers are going to the field and working from there. According to the report presented by the officials during the meeting, the forest fire has reduced by more than half. To prevent forest fire, instructions have been given to all the District Magistrates and top officials of the government to continuously monitor it. CM said that strictest action should be taken against those who are causing forest fire incidents. Also, those who have been negligent in their work have been suspended. Responsibility of officials regarding forest fire is also being decided.

Appeal to the devotees coming to Chardham

People from all over the country including the people of Uttarakhand wait for the Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra. In such a situation, a review meeting has been held with the officials regarding the arrangements for Chardham Yatra, so that the Chardham Yatra is conducted properly. The devotees coming on the yatra should not face any kind of problem. Various measures have been discussed so that the devotees take a good message from Uttarakhand. Also, CM has appealed to the devotees coming on Chardham Yatra that Chardham Yatra is a religious journey. In such a situation, everyone must follow the travel rules. Take special care of cleanliness by not using plastic.

CM’s order regarding drinking water

CM Dhami said that a review meeting of the disaster department has also been held. Due to the adverse geographical conditions of the state, one mainly has to face landslides, disasters, heavy rains and snowfall. In such a situation, along with all this, the arrangement of roads and drinking water supply has been reviewed. Every year we have to face the problem of drinking water shortage. People have to wait in long lines to get water. In such a situation, instructions have been given to the drinking water department that the public should not face problems in getting drinking water. For this, the drinking water department should work sensitively. Instructions have also been given for this. Instructions have been given to the Energy Department to ensure that there is no shortage of electricity.

Instructions on weather department warning

Apart from this, regarding the warning given by the Meteorological Department, instructions have been given to other departments including the Irrigation Department to complete their preparations in view of the warning given by the Meteorological Department. Let us tell you that the Meteorological Center has issued a warning of heavy rain across the state from May 11. Also, at present, rain has started in the mountainous areas. According to the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of rain at some places in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat and Nainital on Wednesday. There is a possibility of light rain in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar and Chamoli.
