After rain and hailstorm in the district, the forest fire has subsided. Besides, people have also got relief from the smoke spread in the city area. After the rain, a drop of four degrees Celsius was recorded in the maximum temperature. But due to the first rain, roads have been closed at many places in Bageshwar Nagar and Kapkot Nagar areas. Water and debris have entered houses at many places. 121 goats have also died due to lightning in Gogina. The water level of Saryu Gomti has reached near the danger mark. The district administration is appealing to people to stay away from rivers.

Rain hailstorm in bageshwar

It started raining in the district headquarters from 6 pm on Wednesday, which intensified till late night. Hailstorm occurred in many villages of Kapkot and Dug Nakuri tehsil areas. Hail rained in Pudkuni and Jhopra also. The rivers in the city area reached around the danger mark. Light hailstorm occurred in Kapkot city and many villages including Harsila, Anarsa, Hadbad, Purkot, Balighat, Reema, Pachar. There has been heavy rain in Kapkot, Reema, Kausani areas including the district headquarters. The Forest Department has got the maximum relief due to rain. The rain has calmed down the forest fire. The haze spread in the valley areas including the district headquarters has also reduced. At the same time, due to low temperature, people have also got relief from the heat.

Goats die due to lightning

The goats that had gone to chugan in the bugyala near Gogina village got hit by lightning. 121 goats died due to lightning. The villagers have demanded compensation from the administration for the loss. Leeti, Gogina, Keemu villages of Bichla Danpur are adjacent to Bugyalon. The cattle of the villagers go to these bugyalas for fattening. 121 goats of 10 cattle herders died due to lightning in Lamtara Bugyal of Gogina. Due to the heavy rains, the traffic was disrupted for several hours due to the overflowing of Danu and Baskuna ponds. At the same time, rain water entered many houses in Tehsil area including Mandalsera and Kapkot.
