Uttarakhand: Sound of big fraud in Dehradun Municipal Corporation! There were no employees, but this work was done every month in his name

The investigation into fraud committed by the Municipal Corporation in the name of salaries of the employees employed in the cleanliness system of the city has been completed. In which the release of salaries in the names of more than 100 unknown employees has been confirmed. The employees included in the list provided by the sanitation committees were not found on the spot. Whereas, payment worth lakhs was being taken in his name. The Chief Development Officer has completed the investigation and submitted the report to the Administrator and District Magistrate. On which action will now be taken as per rules.

In fact, a few years ago the Municipal Corporation had constituted cleanliness committees for cleanliness in all the 100 wards. Eight to 12 sanitation workers were appointed to the committee formed in each ward. In such a situation, their number in the entire city was shown to be more than one thousand. Earlier, the salaries of the sanitation workers were allocated lump sum to the sanitation committee, but after the dissolution of the board on December 2, an attempt was made to make a new arrangement.

Also, after receiving complaints of irregularities in the salary and PF etc. of the employees, it was decided to transfer the salary directly to the employee’s account. For this, the Municipal Corporation collected the physical presence, Aadhar card and bank account number of each employee of the committees. During verification, the corporation’s team found that almost half of the employees from the previously provided list were found missing or someone else was found working in their place.

Due to this, apprehension was expressed that the salary being given as per the list available earlier was being given to the wrong persons. At the same time, the number of employees was also said to be more than the actual number. Administrator and District Magistrate Sonika handed over its investigation to Chief Development Officer Jharna Kamthan. Recently, after completing the investigation, the Chief Development Officer has submitted the report to the Administrator. In which it has been confirmed that salaries have been paid in the names of more than 100 unknown employees.

Corporation to pay around Rs 90 crore in five years

For the salary of the employees under the Sanitation Committee, the Municipal Corporation kept releasing a salary of Rs 15 thousand in the name of each employee every month. In such a situation, the corporation has paid about Rs 90 crore in the last five years, out of about Rs 18 crore per year. Investigation has also revealed that the employees were not given the facilities of PF and ESI as per rules. Besides, not paying salaries directly into the employees’ accounts is also against the rules.
