Adi Kailash Yatra is starting from today. The first group of Adi Kailash Yatra run by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam includes 49 pilgrims. This includes 32 men, 17 women. Adi Kailash is situated at an altitude of 5,945 meters above sea level in the Himalayan valleys on the India-Tibet border in Pithoragarh district. Adi Kailash Yatra has started from today. Along with this, Om Parvat Yatra has also started from today. A total of 49 passengers are included in the first group to undertake the journey. In which maximum 13 passengers are from Uttar Pradesh. Two passengers each from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and 11 passengers from New Delhi, six from Bengal are included in the traveling party. Along with this, five passengers from Orissa are also included in the first group. Let us tell you that so far five hundred passengers have registered for the journey.
How to reach Adi Kailash?
How to Reach Adi Kailash Adi Kailash is situated in Pithoragarh, the frontier district of Uttarakhand. The nearest railway station to here is Kathgodam Haldwani. While the nearest airport is Pantnagar Airport. Although Pithoragarh also has an airport, currently flights are not being operated from there.
After reaching Haldwani, you can now take a bus or taxi from here to Pithoragarh. You can also take a taxi or bus to Dharchula from Tanakpur Railway Station. Tapovan comes after traveling five kilometers from Dharchula. After which, as you move ahead, you find Malpa village on the way. Here you can see a beautiful waterfall.

Beyond Malpa you will reach Gunji village. But before reaching here you will find Sita Bridge on the way. Here you can see Sita Bridge connecting the hills of India and Nepal. Which is made of wood and is swinging in the air. After moving a little further from here you will reach Parvati Sarovar. Here you can visit the famous Shiva Parvati temple.
There is a Kali temple near this lake. Sheshnag mountain and Vedvyas cave are situated near it. From here people visit Adi Kailash. Let us tell you that after reaching Dharchula, 90 km from Pithoragarh, the passengers undergo health test. After which they are issued inner line permit.
Best time to visit Adi Kailash
The road to Adi Kailash is opened every year in May. The best time to go here is between May to June. There is heavy rainfall during monsoon from July to September. Landslides often occur here due to rain. Roads are closed at many places. Due to which it is not safe to go here during monsoon.
After this one can visit here from September to November. However, even in the meantime, if a warning of heavy rain is issued by the Meteorological Department, then the journey is often stopped at Dharchula to ensure that the passengers do not face any kind of problem.
