Russia-China Relation: Vladimir Putin is coming to China this week on the invitation of President Xi Jinping
Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a two-day state visit to China this week, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday. Putin will meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping during his visit starting on Thursday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
The Kremlin confirmed the trip in a statement, saying Putin was visiting at the invitation of Xi. It will be Putin’s first foreign trip since being sworn in as president and beginning his fifth term in office, it said.
It is noteworthy that the two continent-sized authoritarian states, which are in growing conflict with democracies and NATO, want to gain influence in Africa, the Middle East and South America. China has supported Russia’s claim without offering any concrete evidence that President Vladimir Putin attacked Ukraine in 2022 due to Western provocation.
