Instructions to government departments of Uttarakhand to purchase certified products, CS also stressed on starting in the meeting

The fourth meeting of the State Level Committee for Standardization and Quality of Industrial Products was called in the state of Uttarakhand. During this, in the meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary, Radha Raturi instructed all the government departments to purchase only standardized and certified products.

In Uttarakhand, various products will be purchased only after they are certified and standardized. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has instructed all government departments to purchase only standardized and certified products. The Chief Secretary has also asked the Bureau of Indian Standards to release its regular calendar related to training for certification of products in the state. On the other hand, instructions have also been given to motivate the youth associated with it to start startups by making arrangements for standardization, quality assurance, management system and certification lab training. On the other hand, all the departments have been asked to run awareness programs at the Gram Panchayat level also.

During the meeting of the state level committee, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi also listened to various suggestions and then directed the officials to take serious decisions in the matter of standardization and certification. During this time, officials were also instructed to organize awareness programs for customers and customer groups.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi also instructed students and employees working in industries to visit the testing lab and manufacturing unit of the Bureau of Indian Standards. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to put up information boards related to certification of products at main public places including the District Magistrate’s office. The Chief Secretary also stressed the need to sensitize district level officers to implement certification and standardization in their procurement policy.
