After reaching Yamunotri Dham, CM Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram took stock of the arrangements for the yatra.
Chief Minister Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram reached Yamunotri Dham on Thursday, May 16, where he took stock of the yatra arrangements and discussed with the administration and local people regarding the development works in the Dham. During this, Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram said that by making a master plan for Yamunotri, effective steps will be taken for the development of facilities in the Dham.
At the same time, regarding the increasing pressure of devotees in Yamunotri Dham, Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram said that to control the crowd, people coming on the yatra without registration will be strictly stopped. To eliminate the problem of jam, movement of big buses will be discouraged on the travel routes.
Let us tell you that on Wednesday i.e. on 15th May, Secretary to Chief Minister R Meenakshi Sundaram is on a tour of Uttarkash district. While on Wednesday he inspected Gangotri Dham, on Thursday he inspected Yamunotri Dham along with Uttarkashi DM Meharban Singh Bisht and SP Arpan Yaduvanshi. During this, Secretary Sundaram conducted an aerial survey of Yamunotri Dham and surrounding areas as well as the yatra route.
Along with this, Secretary Sundaram held a meeting with temple committee officials, pilgrimage priests, local public representatives and people associated with the yatra arrangements at Jankichatti. In the meeting, he said that by making a master plan of Yamunotri Dham, effective efforts will be made for better transportation facilities and infrastructure development here. Swift action will also be taken for the construction of an alternative walking route to the Dham and the construction work of the ropeway will be expedited.
He said that plans are being prepared for the development of helipad and other facilities in the Dham. With the completion of these projects within a few years, more devotees will be able to reach the Dham. Apart from this, the issue of approval related to forest land for widening of the road from Paligad to Jankichatti is expected to be resolved soon and efforts will be made to complete this work within the coming two-three years.
The Secretary said that travel related businesses are an important part of Uttarakhand’s employment and identity, hence all parties should adopt a positive attitude and cooperate in making travel easy, safe and organized. Do not do anything that may affect the travel system and have a negative impact on the image and interests of the area.
DM Dr. Meharban Singh Bisht said that it is urgent to make an alternative walking route for Yamunotri Dham and said that preliminary survey action is being taken for this. He informed about the steps taken from the administration level by emphasizing on early completion of the ropeway construction and construction of helipad and early widening of the narrow road beyond Paligad.
