DRDO’s ‘Chinook helicopter’ missing from Lucknow…no clue found even after 1 year! Officials maintain silence

A shocking case has come to light from Lucknow city, which has created a stir all around. Actually the whole matter is related to the Defense Expo. Which was organized on 10 February 2020 in Vrindavan Yojana. In this, a combat helicopter (Chinook) made in Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was displayed. This helicopter has disappeared. Was the helicopter stolen or where did it go? The responsible officials of the Municipal Corporation do not have the answer to this.

It is worth noting that during the Defense Expo in the year 2020, DRDO had put a model of Chinook helicopter made of scrap for display near the entry gate. At the expo, the spectators also took selfies with this model of the helicopter. Even after the expo was over, the helicopter remained standing here on a strong iron platform. The Municipal Corporation was responsible for its maintenance.

Complaint lodged 1 year ago

A written complaint about the disappearance of this helicopter was made to Kalyan Banerjee, Joint Secretary, Urban Development Department in April 2023. After which the matter came to light but till now no investigation could be done to find out where the helicopter went. Now the Municipal Corporation has maintained complete silence on this matter.

Where did the helicopter disappear?

Before the G-20 Summit program held in February 2023, the corporation removed this helicopter citing the weak pillar of the helicopter and VIP movement in the area. No one knows what happened to the helicopter after this. After the complaint, Kalyan Banerjee asked the officers of Lucknow Municipal Corporation where did the helicopter go? At that time, Rajesh Jha, Zonal Sanitary Officer of Municipal Corporation Zone-8, gave a written reply that the helicopter has been sent to the corporation’s Rubbish and Removable (RR) workshop in Gomti Nagar for repair. When the current RR Chief Manoj Prabhat was talked to, he said that no such helicopter came to the workshop. Nor is there any entry of it in the past. In such a situation, now a big question is arising that where did the helicopter go.
