Houthis Attack: Houthi terrorists target Panama-flagged oil tankers, fire missiles in latest attack

A Panama-flagged oil tanker was attacked on Saturday near Yemen’s port city of Mokha in the Red Sea. This information has been given by British security firm Ambrey. This is a new attack by Houthi terrorists. A day earlier, Houthi terrorists had claimed to have shot down the American Predator drone MQ-9.

Houthi militants have been attacking ships for months in protest against Israeli attacks on Gaza. Ambrey said radio communications indicated the ship was hit by a missile. The ship was about 10 nautical miles southwest of Mokha when it caught fire. Ambrey said he had received help.

Ships advised to exercise caution

Embrey said that other ships in the vicinity were advised to exercise caution. Apart from this, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency had said earlier on Saturday that a ship in the Red Sea collided with an unknown object and suffered minor damage.

The ship and crew are safe

The UKMTO had issued an advisory note on the incident that took place 98 nautical miles south of Yemen’s Hodeidah port and said that the ship and crew are safe and are moving towards the next port. The attacks by Houthi terrorists in the Red Sea for months have affected the operation of ships globally. Due to this, companies have been forced to adopt longer routes around Southern Africa.
