Crowd of devotees gathered in Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham, administration came on alert

A large number of pilgrims are flocking to Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. According to the information, till 2 pm on Sunday, ten thousand devotees had visited Gangotri Dham and about twenty eight thousand pilgrims from different places are moving towards Gangotri Dham. Similarly, till 2 pm today, eight and a half thousand people have visited Yamunotri Dham and about twenty thousand people are moving ahead on the Yamunotri route from various stops.

Crowd of devotees surging
In view of the arrival of huge number of pilgrims, the administration has increased vigilance and alertness and has deployed all the officials associated with the Yatra arrangements at the Dhams and Yatra routes. According to the information received, till 2 pm today, 1100 vehicles and 9900 passengers were present in Gangotri Dham. Similarly, in the afternoon, about 8500 pilgrims were present at Yamunotri Dham and its walking route. Whereas Jankichatti-Kharsali, the last stop of Yamunotri, also has about 500 vehicles and 4500 devotees.

District administration alert after seeing crowd of passengers
After assessing the possibility of a record number of pilgrims coming to both the Dhams, the administration has alerted all the officers and employees associated with the travel arrangements and has issued instructions to remain continuously posted on the Yatra routes and Dhams. The situation of the dhams and routes is being monitored through CCTV from the travel control room established at the district headquarters. DM of Uttarkashi is in command of the control room. Along with this, instructions are being issued to the officers posted in various areas.
