Heat breaks 10 year record in Dehradun, mercury 41 degrees, light rain expected in the mountains

These days the heat is showing its wrath in North India. People are facing problems due to heat wave coupled with scorching sun. The heat of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, broke the record of the last 10 years. The maximum temperature in Doon was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius, six degrees above normal. On the other hand, meteorologists say that as the temperature increases in the coming days, heat waves will cause trouble.
If we talk about the temperature of Doon in the last 10 years, the temperature has never reached 41 degrees. Earlier last Friday also, the maximum temperature of Doon was recorded at 40.7 degrees Celsius. The temperature of Doon was earlier recorded at 43.1 on May 30 in the year 2012. This is the all-time record so far in the month of May. Bikram Singh, Director of Dehradun Meteorological Centre, said, there will be an increase in the maximum temperature in the coming three days. Hot winds are expected to blow in the plains of the state.
Light rain expected in hilly districts
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there are chances of light rain in some areas of the hill districts of Uttarakhand, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, Almora and Tehri. Whereas the weather will remain dry in other districts.
