How to reach Valley of Flowers?

If you want to go to the Valley of Flowers, then you have to understand one thing beforehand that you will have to trek on foot. No vehicle can take you to the Valley of Flowers. You must leave that vehicle beforehand. Now let us tell you how to reach the Valley of Flowers?

  • To reach Valley of Flowers, the nearest airport you will find is in Dehradun. You reach Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun and then book a taxi from here to Govindghat.
  • This distance is about 300 km and is a hilly route. Therefore, this journey will take you more time than the plain roads. After reaching Govind Ghat, you will have to go to Ghangaria on foot.
  • Here you will have to get a pass for the Valley of Flowers. After this you will have to trek to the Valley of Flowers.
  • To reach the Valley of Flowers from Govind Ghat, you will have to trek for about 19 km.
  • If you want to come by train then the nearest railway station you will find is Rishikesh. From here one will have to cover a distance of about 250 km by taxi and reach Govind Ghat.
  • You can book a helicopter from Dehradun to Ghangaria. But you will have to travel further on foot.

Tourists will be able to visit from June 1

According to the Uttarakhand government, this time the Valley of Flowers Track will be opened for tourists from June 1, 2024. Valley of Flowers Track is famous all over the world for its variety of flowers. The Valley of Flowers is rich in rare Himalayan flora and a unique treasure of biodiversity. More than 500 species of colorful flowers bloom here. From the Valley of Flowers, panoramic views of Tipra Glacier, Rataban Peak, Gauri and Nilgiri Mountains can also be seen. Let us tell you that the Valley of Flowers will remain open for tourists till October 30.

The first team will be sent from Ghangaria base camp

The first group of tourists for the Valley of Flowers will be sent from Ghangaria Base Camp on June 1. Tourists have to return to Base Camp Ghangaria on the same day after trekking the Valley of Flowers. There is complete arrangement for accommodation of tourists at Base Camp Ghangaria. For tracking, eco track fee has been fixed at Rs 200 for Indian citizens and Rs 800 for foreign citizens. There will also be facility of tourist guide from base camp Ghangaria for the Valley of Flowers.
