There will be investigation of outsiders in Uttarakhand, CM Dhami also said on Uniform Civil Code- UCC

Uttarakhand, the state which has implemented Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the country, is now preparing to launch a verification campaign to investigate its changing demographic structure. Under this, the police will come from outside and investigate the people living in Uttarakhand and ensure their identity.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave this information while talking to selected journalists here on Sunday. He said that after the formation of Uttarakhand, changes have been seen in the demographic structure of the state. In such a situation, we decided that a verification campaign would be conducted with the help of the police.

This will tell whether those people are local or have come from outside. Dhami said that some time ago we had started a big campaign against encroachment on forests and government lands. In this, about five thousand acres of land was freed from encroachment. This campaign will be started again after the Lok Sabha elections.
