Genocide is not happening in Gaza… America angry over arrest warrant against Netanyahu, Biden calls it insulting
The International Criminal Court (ICC) is preparing to issue arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yaav Galant. America has raised questions on this possible step of ICC. The names of Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif are also in the ICC’s list of possible arrest warrants. America is furious over keeping Hamas and Israeli leaders together. US President Joe Biden described the arrest warrant case against Netanyahu as outrageous and insisted that there is no equality between Israel and Hamas.
The US President said, ‘We stand with Israel against threats to its security.’ Earlier, ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan told CNN that the court is seeking the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity during the attack in Gaza. He called for a similar warrant for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar for the October 7 attack on Israel.
Question regarding announcement on TV
America also raised questions regarding the arrest warrant on the television interview. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said it was unusual for prosecutors to announce the initial arrest on television rather than in a public document. Secretary of State Blinken said Israel was ready to cooperate with the prosecutor. The prosecutor himself was initially scheduled to visit Israel to discuss the investigation.
Blinken said the prosecutor was to arrive in Israel today (Monday) to coordinate the travel of ICC staff. But Israel was told that they were not arriving. This happened around the same time that prosecutors were going on TV to announce charges.
Biden said – there is no similarity between Hamas and Israel
At the same time, US President Joe Biden said in an event for Jewish Americans at the White House that genocide is not taking place in Gaza. Biden said, ‘We stand with Israel to eliminate Sinwar and the remaining killers of Hamas. We want to defeat Hamas and we will work with Israel to do so. Along with this, he also condemned the ICC’s arrest warrant and said, ‘Let me make it clear that we reject ICC’s application for arrest warrant. There is no similarity between Israel and Hamas. The US President said, ‘What is happening in Gaza is not genocide. We reject it.
